Preparing for the FIDE test is a crucial step toward obtaining your Permis C or Swiss citizenship. This official language proficiency test assesses your ability to communicate effectively in French in everyday situations in Switzerland.

What is the FIDE Test?

The FIDE test evaluates your French language skills at levels A1 to B1, focusing on practical scenarios such as:

  • Workplace interactions
  • Medical appointments
  • Municipal procedures
  • Shopping and daily errands

The test comprises two parts:

  • Oral (Speaking & Listening) – 40 minutes
  • Written (Reading & Writing) – 60 minutes

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Language Passport certifying your proficiency, recognized by Swiss authorities for residency and naturalization purposes.
